environment policy
Impromptu engages some 70 associate role players to support training at client sites across the UK and in Europe. Impromptu maintains a single office for our administration and finance functions. We recognise that our operations have an effect on the local, regional and global environment and are committed to minimising their negative environmental impact. To that end we are taking action in the following areas:
Resources – We will conserve resources through efficient use and careful planning; wherever possible re-using and recycling our office consumables. By agreement with our associates, in 2006 we moved to electronic communication for the delivery of booking confirmations, location maps and details, general correspondence and briefing materials; saving significant amounts of paper. We are constantly reviewing the possibilities for reducing the amount of paper used throughout our business.
Energy use – We encourage our employees to use energy wisely through switching off lights and not leaving electrical equipment on standby.
Waste and recycling – We will minimise waste, especially hazardous waste, and whenever possible recycle materials. We will dispose of all waste through safe and responsible methods.
Transport – Our associates travel across the UK and Europe. We are taking a number of actions to reduce fuel consumption and lower exhaust emissions, including:
- Taking into account location when allocating associates to projects
- Encouraging associates to use public transport and/or share lifts
- Supporting home office working for company managers and directors thereby reducing the necessity for travel.
We are committed to ensuring our associates understand and contribute to our environmental approach via regular e-newsletters, our web site and training days.
