World Vision

Some ago Impromptu undertook sponsorship of a child through World Vision. The principles of the scheme focus on developing self-sufficiency for some of the poorest communities in the world; so, while sponsors do have ongoing written communication with an individual child, the proceeds are used not only for that child’s benefit, but to invest in the whole community, through healthcare, development and education.

Jaime was just 9 when we were introduced to him, and living in unimaginable conditions. What he always had though were strong family tiesfaith and an obvious desire to learn. Now a man, Jaime’s last correspondence (picture above, and letter translated below) reflects what has happened over the years in his community in Brazil.

In saying goodbye and good luck to Jaime (not without a few tears from our MD!) and his family we say hello to 6 year old Justina Colque Villca, a young lady from Bolivia. And so we start again – the first letter is in the post.

Data protection prevents us from showing you photos of these inspiring young people online, but we will keep you abreast of any news on this page.
